Joseph Barone Jr is the longest running informant in the history of the American mafia. He was raised with mob ties; his father was a made man with the Genovese crime family, and it wasn't long before Joe Jr. started running with wise guys. He got close with the Bonanno crime family and started working for them-- loansharking, running sports betting operations, and robbing drug dealers. But when his father, who was on the run from the Genovese in Honduras, mysteriously ended up dead, Joe decided to flip and start working for the FBI. He spent the next 18 years giving the Feds information on the inner workings of the mob that led to countless takedowns.
