Friends, when Vicky Kaushal's film Chhava was released three weeks ago, we made a detailed video exposing the brutality of Aurangzeb. We questioned how a ruler who oppressed Hindus, destroyed temples, imposed the Jizya tax, and executed Hindu and Sikh Gurus could still have supporters in India today.Barely two weeks have passed since that video, and one after another, Aurangzeb’s admirers have started crawling out of their hiding places to glorify him. The first in line was Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Azmi, who couldn’t bear the criticism of Aurangzeb after Chhava and shamelessly declared that the film was distorting history. He portrayed Aurangzeb as an innocent and kind-hearted ruler.Azmi even argued that Aurangzeb was not communal, claiming that 34% of Hindus supported him and that he also demolished mosques along with temples. His statements sparked nationwide outrage, with leaders from Shiv Sena and BJP strongly condemning him. The Maharashtra Assembly went so far as to suspend him and mockingly advised him to dig deeper into Aurangzeb’s history to uncover more of his so-called "virtues."But Abu Azmi was not alone in this glorification. Following his lead, several other politicians and public figures rushed to whitewash Aurangzeb’s crimes. Notably, Imran Masood, known for his past threats against Narendra Modi, claimed that Aurangzeb was a great ruler who governed India for 50 years and that no film could tarnish his legacy.AIMIM’s Bihar president Akhtarul Iman also jumped in, absurdly suggesting that Aurangzeb "served the nation" and contributed to making India an "Akhanda Bharat" from Burma to Afghanistan. These statements, however, completely ignore the reality that Aurangzeb ruthlessly killed his own brothers, imprisoned his father, and ruled with an iron fist, enforcing religious oppression and tyranny.The video delves into this recent trend of glorifying Aurangzeb and exposes those who are attempting to rewrite history.
