Thanks for watching my first guitar build! . I apologize for the vertical video, i never planed on making this from the start. It was only after the first few months i started to gain confidence in my woodworking abilities and began taking more and more videos of me working. I wanted the rest to be the same format as my live photos that i took in the beginning. Anyways i hope you liked the video, it was tremendously fun to make, and i cant believe my first guitar is actually a working instrument.
Some info on the build:
Body:
3 piece body,
back is tigerwood,
mid and side is basswood
front is American Walnut.
Neck
Caribbean cherry wood, scarf joint.
Ebony fingerboard
Abalone shell inlays
African ebony veneer
Hardware:
Seymour duncan seth lover pickups
Gotoh GE101Z-G Stop Tailpiece
Grover 521G Guitar Bridge
Gotoh SD90-SL Tuners 3L/3R G
Göldo input jack and pots
I want to mention this was not an easy project alt all. I made many mistakes that i left out of the video. Some of the biggest challenges include: the wood bending very much so i had to adapt a different body shape(can be seen from sideview). I also broke the trussrod, so i had to take apart the neck, replace it, and re-glue the fretboard. The Neck also started bending after i cut the bulk off, which i didn't realize till much later.
These was just the biggest, every working day i was met with new challenges, but i never rushed to make a quick fix or skip out on anything. I took my time and did a lot of research. i believe this is the reason did not end up with a nice wall piece, but an actual working guitar.
Huge thanks to Adventuresfromtheshedofdreams, i watched his 53 episode youtube series on his es 335 build multiple times, and i would not have even started this project did i not stumble on to his videos let alone being able to finish this thing.
