It was a tough week for boats but where one lacks, another shines, and that was the surf fishing. The east/northeast winds all week sparked a good bite of stripers to 40 pounds along the South Shore inlets. Montauk also saw a small run of fish to about 32 inches and the North Fork got a decent wave of albies. Remember, we also have some time left in the fluke season (October 9 close) with some better conditions for targeting them. For events, keep in mind this upcoming weekend is the annual Fred Golofaro Montauk Classic in Montauk.
