Want to setup your own Dial-Up Networking server, complete with real modems? This isn't a comprehensive how-to guide but more a walk through of how I did it. This does require a bit of Linux skill to replicate and in my case some trial and a lot of error. I am aware that there are other simpler ways to do this and probably get higher modem speeds using a "phone ringer" device. But you still need a computer on the other end to serve as the DUN server. The Asterisk part of this could conceivably be used with multiple PAP2T's throughout the house and an old analog phone in every room all on the same setup. I would love to do this by my S.O. & housemates are not interested. :D If you set one of these up I would love to know what old machines you are using and what you're doing with dial-up. Links below. Guide I followed is here: https://dogemicrosystems.ca/wiki/Dial_up_server Want to get your own Linksys PAP2T, they are usually on eBay for around $10-30 USD here: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313.TR1.TRC0.A0.H0.XPAP2T.TRS0&_nkw=PAP2T And finally.
