Anyway, THANK YOU for clicking this, I think I’m right on my way to refiner of the quarter! So let’s get into Severance episode 5.
Kicking things, enter the mysterious man Felicia mentioned back in episode 3 What I love about Severance is that we could spend 25 minutes on this 2 minute scene alone. Everything about it is mysterious and important, as this man, who the subtitles refer to as “doctor”, wheels a cart to O&D to pick up what looks like dental instruments. Side note, it is mentioned Kier spent some time in his twenties serving as a military doctor. Anyway, this could be tied in with the smile wall from Season 1, which is actually pictures of the cast and crew because they were all filming Season 1 during Covid, and that was a way to see their beautiful smiles. There more you know
As he’s wheeling in the cart we can see various perks, erasures and pens, purposely colored blue and red, symbolizing our innies and outies, and some of the “bad soap” casually brought up in Season 1. The thing that’s weird about this dude is that he wears a severed person’s watch and has an all access black security card, meaning he’s got some leverage on this floor or the testing floor, where he ends his journey. The thing that does not sit well with me is his hair. If you look REALLY closely between the shelves, his hair looks fake. Almost like the perpetuity wing wax figures. When he’s walking back, he definitely is twitching around kinda like a clicker or I guess Jame Eagan in episode 2. At this point it’s anyone’s guess who this mofo is, but I have a scary feeling they are doing facial reconstruction surgery to make people literally in Kier’s image. This would be a huge jump the shark moment, but this dude’s face don’t look right, and why the dental tools?
