Introducing the Kleier Crossbody! My bag making bff turned real-life friend-for-life asked me to come up with a crossbody pattern that can be made from measurements to replace one she had used for years that no longer met her needs. The Kleier crossbody is a fully lined crossbody bag measuring 11” wide x 9” tall x 2.5” deep. It features an exterior zipper pocket, removable crossbody strap made from webbing, boxed bottom and cute split accent. This bag is turned through an opening in the lining. Like all my patterns, it is domestic machine friendly and I go through every step in the tutorial so beginner bag makers can readily create their own. There is particular focus on the top zipper installation. There is no pattern to purchase or print, the measurements are provided in the video and listed below for quick reference. Measurements (WxH): - Exterior back, lining, pocket lining, +/- interfacing: 12x11” - Exterior front +/- interfacing: 12x8.5” - Accent: 12x3.5” - Fusible Fleece: 11x10” and 11x7.5” - D ring connectors: 2x6” - Zipper end tab: 2x1.5” Add on tutorials for an interior pocket and fabric crossbody strap can be found here: https://youtu.be/Sn-NZg1RQ7Y?si=enVFN-foJuV1WcTa https://youtu.be/KocRFmIEnL8?si=MJM0DruL0ch5VxzY For this pattern you will need the following materials: - Exterior fabric - I am using cotton woven from Geek Garden Fabric - Accent fabric - I am using vinyl from Emmaline Bags - Lining fabric - I am using cotton canvas from Geek Garden Fabric - Woven interfacing (SF101 or equivalent) for exterior fabric if using lighter weight cotton - Fusible fleece - Zippers or zipper by the yard - minimum lengths 12.5” and 11” and two pulls; I am using size 5 - Hardware - 2 D rings, 2 swivel hooks, 1 slider; I am using 1” hardware in this tutorial - Webbing in preferred length, in the same width as your chosen hardware. - 1/8” double sided top is strongly recommended to aid in construction I am sewing on a Juki HZL-DX7.
