In celebration of (almost?) 2000 subscribers here is some extra love for a week or two of underrated Squaresoft classics, starting with Bahamut Lagoon. I collected as much as I could to track the history and marketing that lead up to these releases, sharing snippets (essentially in chronological order, shared under fair use) to understand what happened with this game: a project by a younger team that worked very hard for over 2 years on it under the blessing of leaders, close to release they must have realized the ambitious game is a bit difficult to wrap your head around because an article was released that tried to explain the game is not scary and has a standard RPG storyline. The snippets and even a small interview excerpt are shared in Japanese but feel free to ask any questions.
