Shadowboards are extremely useful, but they can be tricky and tedious to build. Often used for aviation tool control in toolboxes, they can actually be very useful around the DIY home shop as well. Here I'm demonstrating a techique that uses a Raspberry Pi computer, Python, CNC router, and some other software (CamBam and Fusion 360) to greatly simplify the process of setting up your tooling inventory with shadow boards. Typically cut from tool control foam, I'm using coextruded High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) from Vycom Plastics for my build (https://www.vycomplastics.com/)
A short discussion of image components, pixels, cutting tool geometry, and software scripts is also included. I attempted to make this video fun and educational at the same time.
