Shaft Alignment Technique Using a Brass Strip, Class: 01

This is an easy and effective method for ‘rough shaft alignment’ using the basic principles of “rim and face” and “reverse dial” alignment methods.

In this video, a rough alignment using the above innovative shaft alignment technique is suggested, before mounting the dial indicator, to avoid excessive movement of the dial indicator plunger, which can spoil the dial indicator. It also makes the procedure using dial indicator easier, as the readings will be within a controlled limit.

This method using a brass strip, can also ensure reasonable accuracy for equipment (speed less than 1500 rpm) not requiring very precise alignment.
