But as the relationship went on the abuse compounded. She took her 4 kids to a shelter but could not find help with housing and the courts would not uphold a restraining order against her husband so she returned home for another 7 years. Then she put herself through school, got her nursing degree, and is now living on her own with her 4 children safe, and free from their abuser. --------- Videos in the docu-series are part of an oral history of survivors of domestic abuse, with the purpose of raising awareness.
