🟣 Mehmet Akif Yazıcı (24), Ünal Çetin (33) and Fikri İpsiz (25) are engaged in animal husbandry on Kuspa Hill in the Çayeli district of Rize in northern Turkey. The shepherds say that the winter season is hard and they think of selling their animals on rainy and snowy days, but when sunny days come in May, they forget all these troubles by going to the plateau. For them, animal husbandry requires a great deal of labor and patience, not only in the visible but also in the unknown aspects. We came across one of the most challenging periods for the goats and shepherds, the birth month. We witnessed the struggle of the shepherds in knee-deep snow, taking care of the birth process of the goats while caring for the newborn kids. Despite all these difficulties, they try to overcome this difficult period by dreaming of the warm and fertile days of early summer. Enjoy watching.
