ABHISHEKAM is a Sanskrit word meaning “sprinkling” or “wetting.” It refers to the Hindu ritual of pouring water and other sacred substances on a deity statue while chanting mantras. The principle behind abhishekam is total surrender to and love of the deity. It is believed that by bathing the statue, or murti, the devotees cleanse and purify their own minds.

PUJA means ceremonial worship, ranging from brief daily rites in the home to elaborate temple rituals. Puja is the act of showing reverence to a god, a spirit, or another aspect of the divine through invocations, prayers, songs, and rituals making a spiritual connection with the divine.

MAHA SHIVARATRI means "the great night of Shiva".The night symbolizes spiritual enlightenment, moksha, and the eradication of ignorance. Rituals include fasting, night vigil, Shivalingam Abhishekam, and reciting Shiva mantras.
