🔴 George's Lymphoma GoFundMe: https://bit.ly/4k0WUIC We found a new antique show! New to us, at least… it’s the first show of the season in the Northwest, and the first antique show we’ve attended in Canada. Hosted by the Fraser Valley Antique & Collector’s Club, this is the biggest antique event of the year in the Vancouver-New Westminster, BC area, and we’re paying extra to get in at the very beginning! We’re on the hunt for things we know our collectors like, things we’ve never seen before, and reseller bargains… and they’re all here! Right away, we find bargains: buying a 1910s Ottoman Empire magazine holder, a cool 1960s confetti bracelet, a Phoenix Glass paperweight, and a vivid orange MCM enameled ashtray—all at prices we’d gladly pay… and that’s just in the first three spaces! Add an almost 30% discount because of the exchange rate, and we could easily exceed our tariff-free limit for what we can bring back across the border. So many interesting things to see here! A table of Dutch bottles from the 1750s–1850s, a coat made from one of the famous Hudson’s Bay blankets, a stunning Royal Dux nude, and a realistic Beswick fox are specialties in the lobby spaces—and we haven’t even gotten to where the big show really is. A handsome Nootka First Nations market basket with a whale, John Perry sea life sculptures, and Italian Latticino shoes catch our attention… and then we find the entrance to the main arena. We’re stepping out onto an ice hockey rink, which is covered up and filled with 200 more tables of antiques and collectibles! More beauty, more bargains, and a novel vintage variety come to light everywhere we look. Classic old advertising signs and tins feature brands we know (Coke, Nesbitt’s, Kodak) and some really cool regional brands like Squirrel Peanut Butter and Queen Anne’s Chocolates. Elegant Crown Ducal butterfly vases, Royal Winton lusterware, and sweet Carlton Ware leaf dishes sit beside Staffordshire Dogs and other traditional English wares. The bargains keep coming in the main hall! We pick up a stylish Caithness paperweight, score fabulous deals on Hawaiian lava cast barware and Gouda pottery, and grab a comic WW1 ‘Old Bill’ trench art plate—while contemplating a whole row of beautiful but ominous brass trench art shells nearby. A floating ship’s compass and early 1800s samplers share space at this show, making each space a fun new exploration with surprises around every corner. Some of the best surprises are our interactions with viewers, dealers, and fellow collectors we haven’t met before at other antique shows! We talk about what makes plique-à-jour ware special with one, enjoy a scarce bicycle newspaper delivery bag with another, and meet a young collector who shares a most interesting reason that a Chesterfield Cigarette lighter appeals to his collecting interest. Costume jewelry and vintage toys, a Canadian-made Winston Churchill mug, Moser tasting goblets, and an exotic bird glass tray… this show has a great gathering of interesting things we haven’t seen at other antique shows in the Northwest! A miniature grandfather clock, Art Deco lighting and smoking stands, even a pair of Flipper boots emblazoned with TV’s favorite porpoise are a few of the standouts… and for those of us from south of the border, there’s familiar Fenton, Barbie dolls, pastel telephones, and so many more things that tantalize collectors from the States too. Our first Canadian antique show comes to an end with over $300 spent on reseller bargains, newfound favorites we’ve not seen elsewhere, and much shared love and appreciation with the collectors at the area’s largest antique event! ———————————————————— ☀️ Subscribe to my LIVE CHANNEL! https://bit.ly/3e6wi9B ☀️ Subscribe to my SHORTS CHANNEL! https://bit.ly/3fkbYoz ☀️ Check out my WEBSITE! https://bit.ly/3BfVNPt ———————————————————— Are you interested in exclusive content and special perks that help support this channel? ☀️ Become a channel member: https://bit.ly/32dfTcz ☀️ Join my Patreon community: https://bit.ly/3xkh4Ix ———————————————————— Follow me on social media, check out my eBay listings, and buy my book! ☀️ Facebook http://bit.ly/33TG9J9 ☀️ Instagram http://bit.ly/2KOJcur ☀️ X/Twitter http://bit.ly/30BjrU9 ☀️ TikTok http://bit.ly/3oTA4FQ ☀️ Rumble https://bit.ly/3QUcffH ☀️ Odysee https://bit.ly/2ZUep69 ☀️ My eBay listings: https://ebay.to/2mg7yDM ☀️ My book on Treasure Craft Pottery: https://bit.ly/3eAfaZM ———————————————————— If you love what we do, consider donating to the channel! ☀️ Buy Me a Coffee: https://bit.ly/3r7KSUM ☀️ PayPal: https://bit.ly/3dLxmx3 ☀️ Venmo: https://bit.ly/380DIHH ☀️ Cash App: https://bit.ly/3ANanNi ☀️ BTC: bc1qhcx6e3gp5kxv3rx696mhmsqfe0pv3chvpps0ku ☀️ ETH: 0xBbddAF1231944e7E6D0EA097Cb0609F1640537eF ———————————————————— ☀️ Send me stuff: The Antique Nomad PO Box 33 Dawson Springs, KY 42408 ———————————————————— Icons made by: https://www.flaticon.com/authors/smashicons
