This story is about Lord Vishnu's incarnation as Srinivasa (Shri Tirupati Balaji), who descended to Earth to protect his devotees from the overwhelming influence of Kali Yuga. Due to the curse of Sage Bhrigu, Goddess Lakshmi left Lord Vishnu and descended to Earth. In her separation, Lord Vishnu took the form of Srinivasa and came to the Venkatadri region to fulfill his promise to Vakkula Mai (Yashoda) and stayed with her. Srinivasa's marriage was arranged with Padmavati, an incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi, and to cover the expenses of the wedding, he borrowed money from Lord Kuber. Later, Padmavati's uncle, King Todman, built a grand temple for Lord Srinivasa. Lord Balaji, along with Lakshmi and Padmavati, resides in the temple in their divine form, eternally. Even today, the offerings made by devotees are considered as repayment of the loan taken from Lord Kuber.

यह कथा भगवान विष्णु के अवतार श्रीनिवास (श्री तिरुपति बालाजी) के विषय में है, जो कलियुग के भीषण प्रभाव से धर्मनिष्ठ लोगों और अपने भक्तों की रक्षा के लिए अवतरित हुए। भृगु ऋषि के श्राप के कारण माता लक्ष्मी विष्णु जी का त्याग करके पृथ्वीलोक पर चली जाती हैं। माता लक्ष्मी के विछोह मैं श्री विष्णु पृथ्वी पर श्रीनिवास के रूप मैं आते हैं तथा वेंकटाद्रि क्षेत्र मैं वकुला माई जो पूर्व जन्म मैं मैय्या यशोदा थीं , उनको दिया वचन निभाने के लिए उनके पुत्र के रूप मैं उनके पास रहते हैं. माता लक्ष्मी की अंश देवी पद्मावती से उनका विवाह तय होता है, विवाह के खर्चे के लिए वो कुबेर देव से कर्ज लेते हैं. बाद मैं पद्मावती के चाचा तोड्मन प्रभु श्रीनिवास के लिए भव्य मंदिर का निर्माण कराया, श्री बालाजी लक्ष्मी एवं पदमावती को अपने ह्रदय में धारण कर विग्रह स्वरुप मैं सदैव के लिए वहां स्थापित हो गए , आज भी भक्तगण जो भी चढ़ावा चढ़ाते हैं , वो कुबेरदेव के ऋण के रूप मैं समर्पित होता है।
इस प्रकार, प्रभु श्री तिरुपति बालाजी के आशीर्वाद से उनके भक्तों की उनपर आस्था सदा बनी रहती है।
