Renowned for its solidity and aggression, the Sicilian Defense is a favorite among top chess players. In this video lesson, GM Igor Smirnov introduces the Accelerated Dragon Variation of the Sicilian Defense. This variation typically arises after the moves: 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 g6. By playing g6 early, before d7-d6, Black can execute d7-d5 directly without losing a move. The Accelerated Dragon is both solid and aggressive, proving effective up to the level of FIDE Masters (approximately 2200-2300 ELO). Additionally, it comes with a lot of deadly traps. ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ► Chapters 00:00 Learn the Sicilian Defense (All Variations) 00:16 Bowdler Attack 02:07 Sicilian Defense Accelerated Dragon Variation 03:24 Accelerated Dragon, Modern Variation 06:42 Black's counter-attacking ideas 10:14 If White prevents Ng4 with f3 12:33 Subtle trap 13:48 Mainline by White 15:59 If White plays 3.Bb5 (Nyezhmetdinov-Rossolimo Attack) 17:12 Smith-Morra Gambit by White 18:13 Alapin Variation by White 📗 Free chess courses - https://chess-teacher.com/rca-freebies/ #IgorNation #SicilianDefense #ChessOpenings
