A new season of Classic Sports Car Club sees us at Silverstone for the first round of 2025. We have opted to add the BMW Ramair Championship to our race weekend as well as the New Millenium race we competed in last year.
After a long winter of changes to the car we have now removed some weight from the car (most of which needs adding back in for the Ramair regulations) as well as new suspension arms, R3 Nitron dampers, and timing equipment.
New to Silverstone and the Ramair series we took our time in qualifying learning the track and placed the car 8th on the grid. The first race (20 minute sprint) was a quick learning curve but we stayed out of trouble and had a great race with Oli finishing P7 overall (P3 in class) after a time penalty for track limits picked up 4 corners before the end of the race.
New Millenium race broke up the Ramair action with its usual 40 minute format and pitstop. Some really unfortunate contact with Graham tainted an otherwise great race with him, and after a stewards enquiry no further action was taken and we got the overall win! A great result!
The second of the Ramair races and final race of the day for us was likely the most entertaining race of the entire weekend, with positions being swapped constantly and managing to bring the car home P6 overall (P3 in class again) and rounded off what was a great day of racing.
