Our van conversion gets upgraded with a lightweight wooden slatted plywood ceiling install this week.
We went with a simple DIY install and it's really changed the look of the van. You can't do van life without one, right?

There are lots of different ways to install a slatted van ceiling, we've seen people make modular wooden ceilings, glue them up, screw them up but we chose something that has worked for us.
You'll see in the video a bit of uncertainty around whether it has made a difference or not; in reflection we 100% love it now, but sometimes you are so close to the job in hand it is hard to see the before and after. That is one of the reasons we love making YouTube videos, as it gives you this reflection.
