Relaxing walking tour of Sintra, Portugal, with detailed historical information and context. Sintra is a medieval and exotic town that seems straight out of a fantasy story, 30 minutes from Lisbon. Sintra, known by many as one of the most beautiful towns in the Portugal (and personally my favorite place in the whole country!), is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its cultural landscape.
For centuries Sintra's beauty and romanticism has enchanted foreign poets and travelers and those passionate about its landscape. Every person who comes to Sintra, is, even if only for a moment, transported back in time, enters a magical world, and has a unique encounter with history, myths and legends.
Sintra is a bewitching town that once served as the residence for many of Portugal’s royalty and aristocrats. Today it’s the perfect place for a quiet retreat as well as an excellent weekend trip from Lisbon.
