3日目は、フィリピン最大級のお祭りシヌログ祭りに参加してきました。😊
毎年、国内外から400万人を超える人々が集まるシヌログ祭りで事件発生！😱

シヌログ祭りは、毎年1月の第3日曜日に開催される文化的かつ宗教的な祭りで、フィリピン最大級の祭りの1つで、「シヌログ」という言葉は、セブアノ語の副詞「sulog」に由来しており、「水流のような動き」を意味します。
シヌログダンスは、太鼓の音に合わせて、川の流れを模した躍動的な動きで踊られます。フィリピン人がキリスト教を受け入れた事を祝い、サントニーニョを崇め称える儀式的なダンスです。
1521年、マゼランはスペイン船団を率いてセブ島に上陸し、キリスト教の洗礼の贈り物として幼子イエスの像をフマボン王とその妻フアナ王妃に贈りました。
言い伝えによると、フマボン王の妻であるフアナ女王は、サントニーニョを受け取った時、像と一緒に喜びのダンスを踊ったそうです。
そして、サントニーニョと一緒に踊るフアナ王妃に感動した原住民達も一緒に踊り始めたのが最初のシヌログの起源とされています。
1565年、レガスピ艦隊はセブ島に上陸、原住民との友好関係を築こうとしましたが攻撃を受け、レガスピは集落全体を焼き払い、住民を山へと追い出しました。
翌日、レガスピ艦隊がもたらした戦火の中、兵士が集落の廃墟の中から偶然にも白い布で包まれたスペイン製の木箱に収められたサントニーニョ像を発見しました。
それは、44年前にマゼランがフマボン王の妻フアナに贈ったものでした。
この像が炎の中にあったにも関わらず焼失を免れ、ほぼ無傷のまま発見された事は奇跡とみなされ、
奇跡の聖像として崇拝されるようになりました。

An incident occurred at the Sinulog Festival, which attracts over 4 million people from home and abroad every year.😱
The parade was one of the most impressive! I was mesmerized by the dancing, the music, the costumes, everything!
The Sinulog Festival is a cultural and religious festival held every year on the third Sunday of January and is one of the largest festivals in the Philippines. The word "Sinulog" comes from the Cebuano adverb "sulog," which means "movement like a water current."
The Sinulog dance is performed to the beat of drums, with vibrant movements that mimic the flow of a river. It is a ritual dance that celebrates the adoption of Christianity by the Filipinos and honors the Santo Niño.
In 1521, Magellan led a fleet of Spanish ships to Cebu and presented a statue of the child Jesus to Humabon, king of Cebu, and his wife as a baptismal gift
According to legend, Queen Juana, the wife of King Humabon, danced with joy with the statue when she received the Santo Niño.
The natives, moved by her dance with the Santo Niño, joined in, and this is considered to be the first Sinulog dance
This event is said to have inspired the Sinulog dance, which is performed during the Sinulog Festival.
In 1565, Legazpi's fleet landed in Cebu and attempted to establish friendly relations with the natives, but was attacked and Legazpi burned down the entire settlement and drove out the inhabitants.
The next day, among the ruins of the settlement, a soldier accidentally discovered the Santo Niño statue stored in a Spanish wooden box wrapped in white cloth amid the flames of war brought by Legazpi's fleet. It turned out to be a gift from Magellan to King Humabon's wife, Juana, 44 years earlier.
The fact that the statue survived the fire and was found almost completely intact was considered a miracle, and it came to be worshipped as a miraculous icon.
