What would it feel like to embark on such a long solo hike? Initially, the idea of such an extensive skiing journey seemed intense, as there is so much to choose from during winter seasons. However, curiosity quickly took over.
Vita Bandet (The White Ribbon) is a winter thru-hiking route that spans over 1300 kilometers (800 miles) in Scandinavia. It extends from the southern mountains of Sweden all the way to Treriksröset – the border crossing of Sweden, Finland and Norway – above the arctic circle. Anniina Perätalo completed the journey alone on spring 2024 in 73 days.
