These environmental performance simulation projects often (but not always) use a limited degree of AI-generated elements to help craft immersive experiences, whose entire purpose is to garner & facilitate human connection by easing the mind into a fantastical scenario brought to life from my own mind.
- These AI resources are utilized out of necessity, not to replace or undermine the work of original creators. Due to extremely limited time and resources, it's not feasible to hire artists or custom designers for every (or often any) aspect of the project.
- The AI models that I use are all offline, and therefore no negative environmental impacts of AI mass-production is being contributed to by any stretch.
- Most of the time, the AI elements used are also heavily altered by me, showing that I am fully engaged in completing the vision, and no amount of passion or humanity is lost - IN FACT, unlike anything that is available to me on the internet (and otherwise) with my budget of $0, AI combined with my digital art skills is capable of bringing my exact vision to life with minimal to no mistakes or deviations &/or alterations due to personal bias towards a desire to make the job more enjoyable, meaningful, and worthwhile.
The focus here is on creating a meaningful, engaging emotional connection through a peripheral gateway to a dream world, NOT performing or showcasing individual contributions for the sheer spectacle. I am here to help people connect with an authentic work (like Sleep Token) in a different or perhaps deeper way than they're otherwise able to with what's already available, through my own Frankenstein-esque representation, purely out of my love for it.
If you, an individual who's come across this video, has a problem with the use of AI in these remix works and is intending on being vocal about it, please ask yourself the following question before doing so:
Am I causing conflict over and/or aggressively criticizing this person of their AI use as a result of noble intentions inspired by a good cause to boycott/abolish the corruption and destruction brought on by the commodification of Artificial Intelligence, simply because I truly believe it is unethical exploitation & misuse, and see any semblance of a connection in their actions to overlooked & neglected creatives being starved of their rightly income & compensation, as well as to industries fostered and sustained by creatives & hard-workers being actively driven out of business collectively?
Or am I purely acting out of a significantly unaware and misinformed fear-response that drives me to zealously shoot down any and all AI involvement regardless of its impact or the lack thereof, due to some severely misguided desire to impact collective perception of AI practices through my negative interaction with the specific circumstantial AI practice in hopes of helping get AI abolished, without ever thinking of the implications of said conflict/criticism being totally misplaced and inconsequential, not just because the receiving party agrees with the logical aspects of my principles but also because there's objectively zero harm being caused by what I'm criticizing?
If the answer to the first part of the question is yes, you're delusional. Perhaps delirious. Maybe see a doctor, and therapist to resolve your irrational fears.
If yes is to the second part, well... congratulations. You've leveled the f#ck up. That's some insane character development right there. You're a self-awareness rookie. Now you should hold backspace the comment you've written so far (or delete if you've posted it), and go meditate.
