Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Finally I made it - smocked viking dress (serk) tutorial. It took some time to put things together and make this historical sewing (not so obvious) medieval kirtle video, but it was worth it. It is a bit different, but still simple, rectangular medieval shift construction, like the other basic viking underdresses. But it is smocked/ pleated little like a peasant dress. This early medieval kirtle is inspired by a findings from Pskov, Hedeby (Haithabu), Birka, Vangsnes and Kostrup. It is not a reflection of one specific dress (from Pskov), but rather an idea of what such a medieval kirtle would look like in a more universal version. If you are interested in more technical and historical information please turn on the subtitles. If you like this video, I would be very grateful if you subscribe. It would make me very happy and support me, so I can make more videos and develop this channel. Thank you. ❤ If you want to jump directly to specific scenes: 0:00 - Intro 0:44 - The research 2:07 - The fabric 2:21 - The pattern 5:57 - Cutting and sewing the sleeves 12:41 - Measuring the armscye and attaching the sleeves 14:30 - The neckline tape 15:08 - Making pleats 19:31 - Finishing underarms gussets 20:37 - The side gores and a false seam 22:47 - The neckline tape 25:14 - Fixation and protection of the pleats, and finishing touches 26:56 - The resoult 29:46 - The pine marten Further Resources: - "Moda Wikingów" Kamil Rabiega - "Viking" Nille Glaesel - "Medieval Garments Reconstructed" Lilli Fransen, Anna Norgaard, Else Ostergard - "Viking Women: Underdress" by Hilde Thunem: http://urd.priv.no/viking/serk.html#ev-pskov MUSIC (all music is from epidemicsound.com.): https://www.epidemicsound.com/referral/fvebpr/ - "A Cold Wind" by Savvun - "Some Autumn" by Leimoti - "October" by Jonatan Molberg - "In the Misty Morning" by Many Moons Ago - "Below the Surface" by Claude Signet - "Jokers" by Mary Riddle - "At Evenfall" by Howard Harper - Barnes - "My New Home" by Rupert Sachs - "Wait 'Til You See" by Kikoru - "Nordic Light" by Jamie Norwood #vikings #historicalreenactment #historicalcostuming #helliruna #vikingwomen
