If you have SIBO, you've surely heard of the migrating motor complex or MMC. The MMC is a type of motility that cleans or sweeps the small intestine clean. So, keeping this MMC working optimally is CRITICAL for SIBO recovery and/or eradication. That's where fasting comes into play.
It's said that the MMC only kicks in when you've been in a fasted state for at least 3 hours, so you should space your meals accordingly. But what about when you struggle with hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)? Which one should you prioritize? Can you fix your MMC while still managing hypoglycemia?
