Here is part 2 in the study on how to make banging, relentless techno like SNTS. In part one we made a 1-bar loop, and now we use that to get from 1 bar to a full 5-minute arrangement.

The key to this style is creating 4 "checkpoints": four eight-bar loops that each are somewhat interesting and represent different moments in the track. Then, once those 4 checkpoints all sound good, move on to constructing bridges between them using subtractive arrangement and automation.

Judge the result for yourself. Here is the arranged track: https://soundcloud.com/torcaudio/2021-03-14-snts-study-arrangement-v1/s-4hrBUSwCy7Q

We use Ableton Live 10 for this. Everything we do is pretty standard DAW functionality.
