Hello Compañer@s, today we teach you Flux Core Welding, this is one of the different electric arc welding processes. It has elements similar to other procedures, such as MMA, Submerged Arc, and MIG/MAG. The possibilities that this process gives us are diverse.

Its official name is Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW). In other words, it consists of a process that uses flux-filled cored wire as the main element. This micro wire is one of the main components of the welding process, and the difference with respect to MIG/MAG (GMAW), with which it shares certain operational aspects.

The wire used in the flux process is not solid, as it is in the MIG/MAG method. Instead, in this type of welding we use a cored wire filled with flux and which does not require Gas for its application.

There are different variants of wire for the flux process, both in its presentation by weight, its diameter and flux. Regarding weight, there are rolls of 1 kg, 5 kg and up to 15 kg. Diameters range from 0.8mm to 2.8mm. For their part, the fluxes are rutile, basic, among others.

The welding machine can be the same one used to weld under the MIG/MAG process. The only difference lies in changing the wire and dispensing with the gas cylinder. Then the hose, torch, and accessories can be repeated.

We hope the video is very useful, remember to subscribe to our channel and explore other videos related to the world of welding.
