In this video, I discuss how to solve word problems by using linear equations to model a linear relationship between two variables. In addition, I work out six practice test questions. In order to do well on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) as well as the Pre-screening internet-delivered Computer Adaptive Test (PiCAT), you must be comfortable solving problems that are similar to the ones in this video.

2:01 An Overview of Linear Equations and Word Problems
y = mx + b is the equation of a line in slope-intercept form
m = the value that changes (i.e., per hour, per month)
b = the initial amount/the amount that doesn't change (i.e., fees)
y = the total amount
