In this video, we're going to look back at the Sonic anime series 'Sonic X', which was released in Japan and the West in 2003. We'll start by looking at the original Japanese release (and why it was a big deal at the time) before moving on to the 4kids dub and the Western release.
As far as Sonic shows go, I have always found Sonic X to be one of the best -if not THE best- adaptations of the series. IF it's the Japanese version, that is. Unfortunately, the English language version of the show is one of the worst dubs I've ever seen, and I'll go into why that is here. (And a heads-up: It's definitely NOT because of the excellent voice cast.)
This isn't a full review of Sonic X, but that will be coming to the channel soon, as Discotek Media is finally releasing a Blu-Ray of the original Japanese version of Sonic X, in the highest possible picture quality -and uncensored- in April 2023. As soon as that drops, I'll crack straight on with a full review of the series for this channel.
