The forward defense has fallen. Zeon forces seep into the dilapidated city searching for Federation troops. Despite the official war ending two years prior. The troops present during this battle find it hard to believe the war ever ended.

As of writing this I’m fairly happy with how this animation turned out, it has a very dreamy feel due to the direction I took with the story but that’s mostly due to a lack there of.
When I first started animating Sparks of War: Metal and Mortar back in January of 2021 I realized I was way in over my head. The script was way too long and I quickly accepted I would never finish the full version.
After releasing the last Sparks of War video however, I found that people believed the Federation (Dudes with the Gundam) had lost the battle.
This definitely wasn’t the case. Miller and his forces had broken the frontal defense but they had yet to take the city.
I wanted to continue where I left off but I knew I wouldn’t be able to finish the full story. So I came up with a different idea
I would rewrite segments of the original script and make separate “blocks.” Each block could exist on its own as a mini story which meant that I could tie them together to make a full video without an annoying cliffhanger. This basically limited me to focusing on different events in the city, never really focusing too much on one event like a big battle. It also meant I had to limit the dialogue.
Regardless I went ahead with it, technically this version is incomplete since I wanted to include a final battle but realized I wouldn’t be able to finish it. However, I didn’t want the video to end on some random cliffhanger like last time.
