Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoy the video. If you are new here, my channel mostly consists of railroad videography from around the Northeastern USA. Please note that all content that I post is mine and should not be used without my consent. If you are interested in more content from me, my photography can be viewed on Instagram at: https://instagram.com/rail_spike_productions About this video: On the weekend of August 3 and 4, 2024, the Conway Scenic Railroad ran a series of special trains to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Railroad’s creation in 1974. Most of these special trains operated on the Conway Branch (the line the runs south from their main depot in North Conway), but their “Photographers’s Freight Special” also made some trips north to Bartlett. Trains that ran on Saturday featured the 470 Railroad Club’s Squeaky Clean Pair of F7s (4266 and 4268) operating on the valley train and GP7 573 (with temporary display numbering as B&M 1560) operating on a special freight consist giving unique opportunities for photographers to capture freight movements on the Conway Scenic. Additionally, Conway Scenic’s Budd RDC number 23 “The Millie” operated on round trips from North Conway to Conway and back. The second day of special operations (Sunday) featured similar trains, but with the valley train and freight train power having swapped places. The final clips in this video were taken on Monday, August 5, and show a rescue operation of the morning’s first valley train to Conway after it encountered mechanical issues. Although not a 50th anniversary special, I included these clips to highlight a unique operation that took place right after the weekend’s special trains. My previous upload has more details and clips of this rescue operation if anyone would like more information.
