I've wanted to put a standalone ECU in my Tacoma for about as long as I can remember. The fact of the matter is, the stock ECU is completely incapable of being tuned and there is zero aftermarket support for doing so. Piggybacks have never interested me and mainstream standalone systems simply cost too much for what I need. Could I buy one, sure? Do I want to allocate $2500 for that purpose? Heck no!

Enter the Speeduino! This is an Arduino based standalone ECU that has been around for a while and is heavily DIY focused. It can do pretty much all the things the other ECUs can do: launch control, flex fuel, boost, etc but it requires you to get it all figured out. Me being me, I wasn't content to simply install it either, I want it all plug and play! So, I got an OEM connector and ECU housing and began tweaking it so that the Speeduino will be a PNP for the Tacoma. Stay tuned and follow along as I figure this thing out!
