I chose my first song, "Everybody Loves My Baby," for its playful and upbeat style. Though originally composed by Spencer Williams in the 1920s, I took inspiration from Doris Day’s 1950 performance. I aimed to capture the vibrant energy of big band jazz, and really enjoyed the challenge of the song’s rhythmic complexity and swing. My interpretation seeks to pay homage the performance style and aesthetics of the 50s.
