In this video, I'll take you on a 40km ride through some of the most breathtaking coastal scenery in eastern Scotland. The Fife Coastal Path is a 117-mile route that offers fantastic opportunities for hikers, cyclists, and nature lovers to explore the beautiful coastline of Fife. Today, we'll be exploring the coastal path around Fife Ness and Crail to Anstruther. Our journey starts at the Cambo Estate, where we'll hop on the Coastal Path towards Fife Ness. Fife Ness, also known as Rubha Fiobha in Scottish Gaelic, is a headland forming the most eastern point in Fife, Scotland. The area was once called Muck Ross, which means "Headland of the Pigs" in Scottish Gaelic. We'll make a stop to admire the lighthouse before continuing along the coastal path through Crail towards Anstruther. Fife Ness was home to a Coastguard station until 2012, and it's also home to an important Northern Lighthouse Board lighthouse built in 1975 by P. H. Hyslop to warn shipping of the headland and the North Carr shoals. The lighthouse replaced the last in a series of lightvessels that guarded the treacherous rocks, as it had proved impossible to build a permanent lighthouse on the rocks themselves. As we head north towards St Andrews, we'll take a short detour to explore the Kenly Water by Boarhills before diving back onto the Coastal Path towards the Cambo Estate.
