Progress on the new bridge continues after the midland mainline reopened on 30th December 2024 after the previous bridge was replaced during a 9-day blockade over the Christmas period.
The new deck has been laid with concrete and an engineer walking over it confirms it must have cured by now. Not forgetting the large cranes have been transported away which must come as some relief to all concerned!
Trains out of St Pancras International station have been reduced this weekend affecting both Thameslink and EMR services due to ongoing engineering works in the Farringdon area and beyond. With the Thameslink core closed, services southward begin at London Bridge and northwards at St Pancras upper ground level.
The works at Agar Grove bridge include installing drainage gutters and trackside lighting. I understand the bridge will open in the spring with alot of work to tie-in with the adjoining streets and possible utility diversions still to do.
