Stacking Thirds 101 - Basics Here I show the very basics of what it means to "stack thirds". We build chords by stacking thirds. These thirds are found by referencing a note within a key and then finding the respective 3rds above that note. Really this is the whole essence of how we find the harmonized major scale (and therefore the chords that are "in key"). I thought it was worth the time to put this together since you really can't begin to understand music theory if you don't get this concept. Music theory is a tool of course to try to understand the musical language. We want to understand the musical language so we can get on the guitar and say what we need to say :) My Blog: http://guitarfromtheheart.com/index.php/home-page/blog/ Thanks for watching!
