In the age of coronavirus, steam has been an unfortunate absence at the Conway Scenic Railroad. On the last week of 2020, that changed, the sounds of whistles and chuffing returned to the Mt. Washington Valley as the railroad brought 1921 built O-18a #7470 back to life for the holiday week trains in preparation for the "Winter Steam" event.
Holiday week trains began on the day after Christmas, with two trains to Conway and one to Bartlett, and 7470 would charge through with all three. There were a few occasions where a diesel would take the train, but for the most part, steam would take most excursions.
December 26th through December 27th, 2020, Smokebox Productions shot 7470 and welcomed steam back to the White Mountains. I hope you enjoy 7470s return to the channel!
