On the 20th of May 2018, the Steam Ranger Heritage Railway Southern Encounter ran from Mount Barker to Victor Harbour & Return. 958 hauled the train from Mount Barker to Goolwa before RX207 joined to lead to service to Victor Harbor and then back to Mount Baker in the afternoon with 958 in behind, creating a rare Steam/Diesel Double Header.
