After a considerable wait I'm delighted to take delivery of the new Bernie Grundman mastered Analogue Productions 2 x 45rpm 200g Clarity Vinyl UHQR release of one of my favourite Steely Dan albums: Katy Lied.
In this video I discuss the differences and compare it to the brand new 'regular' pressing, released on the same day: 31st January 2025.
Just to see whether it really is worth spending the comparatively vast sum of money on the UHQR I also compare it to the Qobuz streams (16/44.1 and 24/192).
I'll also have a bit of rant about pressing plants and the stark contrast between QRP and GZ Media: how to do it properly, and how not too!
