They say never meet your idols, but in this season 3 segment of “Weekends with Yankee” (episode 303), we couldn’t help ourselves. Amy got the chance to visit the home of world-renowned chef Jacques Pépin in Madison, Connecticut. The pair forage for mushrooms behind Jacques house, gathering supplies for the feast to come. Back in the kitchen, they make mussels au gratin, mussel soup, and a delicious New England clam chowder. Amidst the cooking, Jacque gives an overview of his impressive career that led him overseas from France to America. After a day of foraging and cooking, the cherry on top was getting to peak at Jacques collection of culinary scrapbooks.
