Once the wood has been heated, it is transferred to the peeling machine for the most important stage – veneer cutting. The peeling machine uses a large blade to shave the logs into thin sheets of wood, with thicknesses ranging from 0.3 mm to 3 mm, depending on the requirements. There are two common peeling methods: rotary peeling and flat slicing. Rotary peeling: The log is rotated around its axis while the blade shaves off thin layers of wood, similar to peeling the skin of a fruit. Flat slicing: The log is held stationary, and the blade moves horizontally to slice layers of veneer. #WoodProcessing #TimberManufacturing #WoodworkingIndustry #VeneerProduction #SustainableWood
