Steven Dreyer grew up in Long Island, NY and served with the 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile) in Vietnam in 1969. “Getting off the plane in Vietnam was one day after another survival”, said Steve, “this is just a bad freaking dream and I just need to get through it and on the other side”. Beginning early in 1969 the 1st Cavalry fought a series of heavy skirmishes along enemy trails leading southward from the Cambodian border toward Saigon as three separate North Vietnamese Army divisions attempted to gain positions closer to the capital.
While serving in Vietnam Steve was injured numerous times and awarded 3 Purple Hearts.
