Welcome to my channel! In this video we visiting Stockholm, a city of history, culture, and breathtaking waterfront views! Join us as we spend four days exploring Sweden’s capital, discovering iconic landmarks, hidden gems, and delicious local food. Day 1 – Arrival & Exploring Gamla Stan We start our journey in Gamla Stan, Stockholm’s picturesque Old Town. This charming district dates back to the 13th century, filled with medieval alleyways, colorful buildings, and historic sites. We stroll through Stortorget, the oldest square, home to the Nobel Prize Museum. Don’t miss the narrowest alleyway, Mårten Trotzigs Gränd, just 90 cm wide! Our accommodation is on Kungsholmen, a peaceful island district known for its scenic waterfront and relaxed atmosphere. We stay at the Niro Apartment Hotel near the city's heart, which offers a comfortable and convenient base for exploring the city. Day 2 – Iconic Landmarks & Local Food A visit to Stockholm City Hall (Stadshuset) is a must. This stunning red-brick building is famous for hosting the Nobel Prize banquet and offers a tower with one of the best panoramic views of the city. In Norrmalm, Stockholm’s modern center, we explore shopping streets, cultural sites, and the bustling urban vibe. Next, we head to Östermalms Saluhall, a historic food hall that has been serving high-quality Swedish delicacies since 1888. Here, we try some traditional Swedish seafood and local specialties. For lunch, we dive into one of Sweden’s most famous street foods – the tunnbrödsrulle. This unique wrap combines soft flatbread with mashed potatoes, hot dogs, shrimp salad, crispy onions, and mustard. A strange but delicious combination! Later, we take a scenic ferry ride to Djurgården, one of Stockholm’s most beautiful islands. It’s home to some of the city’s best attractions, including the Vasa Museum, where a perfectly preserved 17th-century warship tells the story of Sweden’s maritime past. Day 3 – Museums, Views & Swedish Traditions We continue our exploration with a visit to the ABBA Museum, an interactive experience dedicated to Sweden’s legendary pop group. A must for music lovers! Then, we step into royalty at the Royal Palace, one of the largest palaces in Europe, with over 600 rooms. In the afternoon, we enjoy fika, a Swedish tradition of coffee and pastries, at a cozy café. Fika isn’t just about drinking coffee – it’s a social ritual, a moment to slow down and enjoy life. For breathtaking views, we hike up to Monteliusvägen, one of the best viewpoints in Stockholm. From here, we see a postcard-perfect panorama of the city, especially at sunset. To wrap up the day, we take a scenic tram ride from Djurgården to T-Centralen, as the city lights up in the evening. Day 4 – A Trip to Sigtuna, Sweden’s Oldest Town We start our journey with a short trip to Sigtuna, Sweden’s oldest town, founded in 970 AD. This charming lakeside town is full of Viking history, ancient rune stones, and well-preserved wooden houses. It feels like stepping back in time! We traveled here directly from the airport using public transport, proving how convenient Stockholm’s SL app and the travel pass are for visitors. Getting Around Stockholm Stockholm’s public transport is fantastic! We used the SL app, which made it easy to plan routes and buy tickets. The travel pass covered buses, trams, ferries, and the metro, making travel seamless and affordable. Final Thoughts Stockholm is a city that perfectly blends history, modernity, and nature. From the medieval streets of Gamla Stan to the cutting-edge museums of Djurgården, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re here for the culture, the food, or the stunning scenery, Stockholm is an unforgettable destination. Thanks for joining us on this adventure!
