STOP Separating Channels for BlurXTerminator “Correct Only”! (Tested with OSC & Mono Data)

Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Welcome back to Hidden Light Photography! In this video, I’m putting BlurXTerminator’s “Correct Only” mode to the test to answer a common question:

Should you apply “Correct Only” to each RGB channel individually—or after combining them into a full-color image?

To find out, I tested this on multiple data sets—both OSC and mono RGB—and the results were surprising.

I compare the two workflows side by side:

Correct Only after RGB combination (OSC or Mono)

Correct Only on separated R, G, and B channels (individually)

Even with StarAlignment applied, the per-channel approach introduced subtle but consistent issues:

Uneven color in star cores

Red or purple halos

Loss of true white star color

The combined RGB workflow, on the other hand, consistently produced cleaner color and better star alignment—across all datasets.

🎯 If you’ve ever been told to run “Correct Only” on individual channels—this video might change your mind.
