The Second World War would see an array of weird and wonderful aircraft designs. This era of aviation would allow for the testing of planes with different features. The Westland Wendover was certainly one of these designs. The rear tail section instead of a standard single fin like most light aircraft, would feature a broad beam with two fins and a turret with four .303 browning machine guns. This would usually be reserved for larger aircraft such as the Avro Lancaster Bomber. So why? Well in today's video we look at the P12 Westland Wendover the strangest British light plane of WW2. At Premier History we want to take you on a journey through time and grow your knowledge to see what it was actually like to be in some of the pivotal points in World History.
