It goes without saying that the 2024 Subaru Solterra mid-size SUV is a critical all-new model for the Japanese brand. After all, it's more than just another mid-size SUV – it's the marque's first all-electric vehicle. Yes, it may be 2024, but the brand is only getting onboard the EV train now.
In fact, if it wasn't for Toyota, the Solterra might not even exist, with it very, very closely related to Brand T's own first EV, the awkwardly named bZ4X. The similarities between the two are so much so that there's little to seperate them, which is why Subaru has been so relatively aggressive with its pricing, knocking 10 per cent off its model's price the week before its Australian launch.
