Side by side comparisons of the HD Remaster intros with the original intros to show off the differences. The intros weren't just simple upscale jobs. A good chunk of them appear to be recreated from the ground up. 26 seconds. In the Sega Saturn opening, the map of the Scarlet Moon Empire shows the locations of all towns and cities, while in the HD Remaster, no locations are shown 29 seconds. In the Sega Saturn opening, Imperial soldiers are shown riding Gul-Horses, while the HD Remaster shows a scrolling shot of lake Toran 34 seconds. In the Sega Saturn opening, the Resurrection rune was shown with the elemental runes, but in the HD Remaster opening, only the 5 elemental runes are shown 36 seconds. In the Sega Saturn opening, Kasumi's reflection is shown on the shuriken thrown at a tree, but the HD remaster shows a shot of the roof of Toran Castle instead 38 seconds. In the Sega Saturn opening, Black is flying across mountains, while the HD Remaster shows a shot of Toran Castle at night 47 second. In the Sega Saturn opening, a bird is flying across the lake, while in the HD Remaster the bird has been removed. The water is also flowing in the HD Remaster 53 seconds. In the Sega Saturn opening, there are a lot more Imperial soldiers marching, while the HD Remaster shows more of the landscape 1 minute. In the Sega Saturn opening, Barbarosa, Windy and a third unnamed person are shown looking out of the castle, while in the HD remaster none of them are present 1 minute 4 seconds. In the Sega Saturn opening, Black flying across a sandy plain leading to Tir and the Stars of Destiny, while in the HD Remaster the camera pans along the ground and cuts straight to Tir 1 minute 12 seconds. In the Sega Saturn opening, we get images of a sword, Gremio's Axe, Odessa's ear ring, Tir or Ted's glove as the camera fly's through Gregminster, and a shot of Leknaat's room in her tower on Magicians Isle, while in the HD Remaster the intro focuses more on showing us a better look of Gregminster 1 minute 18 seconds, Teo's image is mirrored in the HD Remaster 1 minute 24 seconds. In the Sega Saturn opening, it shows the Soul Eater being used as well as a dragon fighting an Eagleman, while in the HD Remaster we get a shot of the Stars of Destiny portraits flying through the night sky 1 minute 46 seconds, Windy and Barbarosa's portraits are mirrored 1 minute 50 seconds. In the Sega Saturn opening, it shows Viktor, Gremio and Tir standing on a cliff overlooking Toran Castle. While in the HD Remaster it shows Ted, Gremio and Tir standing on the cliff overlooking Toran Castle 2 minutes 34 seconds, there are no Highland soldiers running through the burning village in the HD Remaster 2 minutes 42 seconds. In the original opening the Highland army is marching, while in the HD Remaster we get a wide shot of L'Renouille 2 minutes 56 seconds, Luca's pupils are a little high up and easier to see in the HD Remaster 3 minutes 48 seconds, the HD Remaster removes the awning above the door of the building. The door has swaped swides, and 2 windows have been added. The HD Remaster also removed the flock of birds flying over the castle. The side of the castle is a little different in the remaster and extra windows were added 3 minutes 53 seconds, the HD Remaster the board behind Freed is blank, while in the original there appears to be a map of some kind on it. The bookshelf behind Sheena in the HD remaster is longer, and the window appears to be much bigger 3 minutes 56 seconds, the landscape in the background in the HD Remaster is a lot bigger 4 minutes 4 seconds, the bottles on the floor all have labels on them in the HD remaster, while in the original they had no labels. You can also see a white outline around the chairs and the table Rikimaru and Amada are sitting at in the HD Remaster 4 minutes 8 seconds, the Jowston flag is fully visible in the remaster instead of waving in the wind like it was in the original. When the Stars of Destiny first start appearing, in the original it looks like there's some kind of lake, or patch of water flowing underneath them until GenGen appears, but in the remaster we stay with the Jowston army and flag until GenGen appears 4 minutes 17 seconds, when Ellie appears in the original she's standing in a village with a mountain behind it, but in the remaster there's no village and there's only a mountain in the background 4 minutes 19 seconds, there's a lot of small differences when Shu appears. The stack of books on the right is different. The lantern is much brighter in the remaster. The bookshelves and books in the background are different.
