Steve and his family hike the Laugavegur Trail in Iceland from July 30 - August 3, 2024. While hiking this world-famous trail, they contend with harsh Arctic weather including gale-force winds, heavy rain, and 1°C cold temperatures in the middle of summer. After the trip, Daria stated this in regards to her experience: "Hiking in extreme weather conditions on the Laugavegur Trail in Iceland was the hardest thing I've ever done besides giving birth. 35-38°F cold, non-stop rain, and extreme winds 40-50 mph that can literally move rocks and knock you over on the trail was something that I never experienced and it definitely pushed me to my limits. I was crying. I was screaming. I had panic attacks. I thought I'll never make it out of there alive. But I had to get myself together and keep pushing to survive. One step at a time, one day at a time. We had no way to get off the trail for four full days. It was really tough - physically and mentally."
