Instead of getting a single PB-17, split your budget, go dual, then trade up. Each trade up resets the 1 year time period, so you can get to dual PB-17's over the course of a few years of trading up every year:

Without question, ANY of the above *matching* dual subwoofers would be a better experience overall than a single PB-17 Ultra. If you plan to get a second PB-17 within a month or 2, that will work, just reserve judgement until you have both.
I'm not trying to impede SVS from selling their PB-17 Ultras, I'm trying to make sure YOU have the best possible experience.
Matching dual subs is key to that. By all means, the PB-17 Ultra is incredible, but if you're going to jump in, jumping in with both feet, or in this case both subs, is vital to truly what these are capable of delivering.
It's not the subs, it's every indoor room in any conventional house. I haven't tested it in a Yurt, so I can't say for sure. But I HAVE tested it in a motorhome, and it was even MORE important!
My opinion of the PB-16 Ultra changed from being pretty underwhelmed as a single and mixed with different subs, to it being the best bass I've ever heard, but only after I had a matching set and no other mixed subs.
Now the PB-17 has that title. Undeniably.
The video ended a bit abruptly, but my voice was going out at the very end. Still fighting bronchitis, but I'm glad to have finally gotten this out!!
I have a few more videos to do on these, so post your questions in the comments below!!
