Meet Ajmal Bhai Patel, from Banaskatha, Gujarat, a professor who turned into a farmer. Ajmal is a post graduate in economics but his inclination towards Agriculture, his economics background and his thirst for better income made him quit his job and embrace farming as his profession.
Ajmal earned approximately 6 lakhs from his two acres of land by sweet orange cultivation and is hopeful for better returns in his next produce of sweet orange
Ajmal started off with Pomegranate farming which earned well for him. but later the crop caught disease and Ajmal started looking for alternatives for the crop.
Now he does sweet orange farming. Ajmal used tissue culture plants to cultivate his 2 acres of land and earned around 6 lakhs from it. He applied all the scientific and modern irrigation techniques in his plantation and also took care of soil health. His decision proved fruitful and today he earns around 75K monthly from sweet orange.
