Video opens F23 on the attic after roosting overnight. M15 arrives at the nest tree, and a subadult intruder is flying in the area. M15 and F23 react to the subadult with vocal warnings. The subadult flies to the upper branches. There was not much of a view on the flight in, but we can see white on the head, with dark tail feathers. Based on the size appearance of the subadult intruder, plus the plumage, this may be the same subadult who has been around. With the view, there is no way to know for sure. CamOps provides fantastic close-ups and extreme close-ups of M15 and his eyes. The right eye is greatly improved and open. The left eye appears to be be clear when M15 opens it, which he does a number of times. He is still keeping the lower eyelid closed at times as he heals/recovers.
M15 and F23 warn the intruder for an hour. M15 finally works his way up to the intruder, and kick strikes the subadult out of the nest tree, shown in Zoom and regular view. F23 watches from the attic. The intruder leaves heading NW. M15 and F23 remain perched in the nest tree. Additional description in the time stamps below, if interested. SWFL Eagle Cam Banner report 2-6-25: M15 and F23 defended the nest tree from an intruder in the AM, perched in the treetop until late morning. M returned late afternoon, took a bath and perched in the treetop. 5:16p M flew NE. Great Spirit keep M and F safe and E24 and E25 in your care
